Preston began practicing law as a trial attorney for the Douglas County District Attorney's Office in Minden, Nevada. He also worked in the Sale Lake City Prosecutor's Office and later the Salt Lake County District Attorney's Office. During his time as a prosecutor, he managed several hundreds of criminal cases and took over 100 cases to trial.
In addition to his service in the public sector, Preston also has years of private practice experience in the areas of family law, criminal defense, and other civil litigation. As an associate attorney in his previous firm, he managed divorce and family law cases as well as all of the firm's criminal defense cases. When he is not practicing law, Preston is a woodworker, sports enthusiast, musician, performer, husband, and father.
